Discussion:
Rush, there's no 'perhaps' about it. . .

You spent all of 60 seconds recognizing Paul Harvey today when half
your show should have incuded clips from him.
And then you said he was "perhaps the best performer" of all time on
the radio. The rest of the time you spent talking about how you were
the inductee to the radio hall of fame, and that Paul Harvey said you
were the best.
Gosh Rush, I love you, but you're wrong.
You are barely worthy to polish Harvey's shoes. When Paul came on the
radio, if you were with someone else, you could be sure the other
person would say "Shhh, Paul Harvey is on." I can assure you that
doesn't happen when you're on the air very often.
But with Mr. Harvey it probably happened 100,000 times every day,
maybe more.
I listen to you, Rush. But I'm on my computer and only half listen.
You're good, Rush, but you might not even come in second when it comes
to the best radio performer.
You missed an opportunity, Rush. If you'd dedicated part of your show
to Mr. Harvey, you would have won far more devotion to your show. But
you blew it.
You give a nice tribute to Paul Harvey here but I disagree with your claim that any
more recognition to him by Rush would have garnered him any additional devotion than
he already has. How exactly do you think he should have stretched his sincere
remembrance of Paul Harvey out...particularly in view of the fact that we are now in
what is probably the worst critical crisis of our country, at least in our lifetime
and millions are dialing into Rush every day wanting to stay on top of the political
picture on a daily basis?....AAC

Rush could have taken some the time he used rerunning his Saturday
talk and let Paul Harvey have that time. He could have made the same
points using something Harvey said.

Of course, he risked sounding pale in comparison to the incomparable
Harvey.
Rush has 180 minutes less commercials five days a week to make his
points. five or ten minutes of Harvey praisng him instead of 60
seconds telling how Harvey praised Rush would have be the classy thing
to do.

It's the worst thing Rush has ever done on the radio in my opinion.

I understand your admiration, perhaps love, of Paul Harvey. Many others join you.
Here's what came in my personal mail today as a tribute to him:

Hooray for Paul Harvey

HOORAY, HOORAY, HOORAY for Paul Harvey. I myself have been grumbling and wondering
how a handful of people have been able to take our right to pray in public places
away from us. So, agreeing with Paul, I GLADLY will forward this email AGAIN, AGAIN
AND AGAIN.

Folks, this is the Month that we RE-TAKE AMERICA
********* Get Ready *********

Keep this going around the globe .... Read it and forward every time you receive it.
We can't give up on this issue.

Paul Harvey and Prayer

Paul Harvey says:

This is the United States of America , a country founded on Christian principles.

One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short
prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip
us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating,
to pray before we go to sleep Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a
handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.

God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we tell that one or two who
scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want. It
is time that the majority rules! It's time we tell them, You don't have to pray; you
don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or
attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right; but
by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back, and
we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all ... Especially those who worship Him , God bless America,
despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our
military who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.

Let's make 2009 the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the
foundation of our families and institutions .. And our military forces come home from
all the wars.

Keep looking up.

If you agree with this, please pass it on.

Great American, Paul Harvey. He will be missed by millions. May he rest in
peace....AAC
